| Kiwibank confirms Ultradata for Core Banking System
01 Feb 2010 – Kiwibank has completed a comprehensive examination of its future technology banking requirements, working with a number of international companies, and has confirmed that it will continue with the existing Ultradata core banking system.
Chief Executive Sam Knowles said the bank has been experiencing tremendous growth since its inception in 2002 and carried out the review to ensure its systems could accommodate the requirements of servicing a customer base of nearly 700,000.
“As part of this system review, Kiwibank invested a significant amount of time revisiting their current and future core banking platform requirements, short-listed a number of potential suppliers and undertook an in-house Proof of Concept.
“After undertaking this detailed analysis, Kiwibank decided to maintain the longstanding relationship with Ultradata by continuing to use Ultracs as the core banking platform, and by forming a strategic partnership to support future growth opportunities in terms of customer numbers and functionality.”
Kiwibank also has a strong in-house team of IT staff who has been able to work with the business to build bank specific functionality, utilising Ultracs capabilities.
