For Parry Pan, shaping the future of banking is more than just a job - it's been a career-long passion. As a Business Analyst on Ultradata's Innovation and Design team, Parry brings innovative solutions to life across our full suite of products, including Ultracs Core Banking, My Viewpoint Internet Banking, and Ultracs App.
From ensuring compliance with ever-evolving regulations like Consumer Data Right (Open Banking) to enhancing user experiences in our Digital Banking platforms, Parry focuses on delivering streamlined, secure, and intuitive banking experiences. Recent successes include new financial management and lending solutions that will genuinely impact our clients' customers when they are released.
Before joining Ultradata, Parry built a strong foundation in financial technology, having spent over eight years at FIS. There, she held roles across the software development lifecycle, starting in Technical Support before transitioning to Quality Assurance (QA). But it was the next move, becoming a Business Analyst, that marked a pivotal turning point in her career.
"The moment I transitioned into a BA role was truly defining," Parry reflects.
"That shift allowed me to move from building systems to shaping what gets built and why. It aligned perfectly with my drive to be a problem-solver and a value creator."
The decision to join Ultradata came during a significant life transition - as she moved from New Zealand to Australia.
"I was ready for a change. Ultradata's vision, diverse product suite, and collaborative culture offered a perfect professional and personal fit."
A typical day for Parry starts with a strong black coffee and a thorough scan of emails and task lists. From there, no two days are the same - an environment that suits Parry perfectly.
"Every day is different, which I love about this role. Whether it's requirement gathering, prototyping with UX designers, or supporting implementation with Development and QA teams - I'm always learning something new."
That passion for continuous learning is one of Parry's greatest strengths.
"In this industry, there's always something new - whether it's a regulation, technology, or customer need. I enjoy staying curious and keeping up."
When asked what she loves most about working at Ultradata, Parry doesn't hesitate:
"It's the people. We've got a team culture built on open communication, mutual respect, and genuine collaboration. That's what enables great ideas to thrive."
Outside of work, Parry is always ready for the next adventure. She loves to travel, whether it's for leisure, sightseeing, culture, or events.
"I enjoy travelling to explore and experience new things, such as different countries, cultures, activities, and lifestyles."
While she's visited all corners of the globe, her favourite holiday of all time should come as no surprise - as it's the place she now calls home.
"From my first visit, Melbourne left a lasting impression on me. Its vibrant culture with a wide range of arts, traditions and cuisines, plus the beautiful scenery - especially how lustrous it gets in Autumn - have made me call it home."
As for what's next, Parry remains focused on continuing to grow in the financial technology product design space. With her thoughtful approach, technical expertise, and endless curiosity, there's no doubt Parry will continue to make a lasting impact.
